Traveling from points East (Northern Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine):
From Northern Vermont:
From Interstate 89 at Burlingon, Vermont, take exit 14W
to Route 2 west to the Lake Champlain Ferry
(follow signs to ferry). The ferry stops in Port Kent, NY.
From Port Kent, NY take Route 373 to Route 9 south. Proceed
approximately 8 miles on Route 9 to the intersection with Route 22. Take
a left onto Route 22 (south) and go about 4.5 miles to Long Pond Cabins.
The cabins will be on the right.
Alternate Route for Shorter Ferry ride from Charlotte,
Vermont to Essex, NY:
From Route 7 in Vermont, take Route F-5 west at Charlotte.
Proceed 3 miles to Lake Champlain Ferry.
From Essex, NY take Route 22 north approximately 8.5 miles to Long Pond
Cabins -- the cabins will be on the left. |
Traveling from points West (Ontario, Ohio, Rochester, Syracuse):
Take Interstate 90 east (the NYS Thruway) to Albany, NY,
exit 24. At exit 24, get on Interstate 87 north. Take exit 33 and turn right.
Go straight at the first traffic light onto Route 22 south. Proceed approximately
4.5 miles to Long Pond Cabins -- the cabins will be on the right.
Alternate Scenic Route from Interstate 90 at Amsterdam,
NY:
Take exit 27 off Interstate 90 to Route 30 north. Follow
Route 30 through the city of Amsterdam. Stay on Route 30 into the Adirondack
Park to Route 8. Turn right onto Route 8 going east. In about 34 miles at
Chestertown, NY, get on Interstate 87 going north.
Take exit 33 and turn right. Go straight at the first traffic
light onto Route 22 south. Proceed approximately 4.5 miles to Long Pond
Cabins -- the cabins will be on the right. |
